Recently, Xu Zifei, the first author of the 2022 PhD in Fluid Machinery and Engineering at our college, published a research paper on mechanical equipment fault diagnosis in ISA Transactions in 2021, and was selected as a high 1% cited paper in the field of computer science and application/automation/engineering in the first quarter of 2023. The first communication unit for this study is University of Shanghai for Science and Technology, and the corresponding author is Professor Li Chun.

Xu Zifei pursued a doctoral degree in fluid mechanics and engineering at our college from September 2016 to June 2022. During this period, he participated in multiple scientific research projects under the National Natural Science Foundation of China by Professor Li Chun, published over 40 academic papers in SCI and core journals, and won two national scholarships for doctoral studies. His thesis was awarded the Excellent Doctoral Thesis of the Shanghai Engineering Thermophysics Society (at the provincial and ministerial level). In February 2023, Dr. Xu Zifei was successfully approved for the European Union's Horizon Europe 2020 research and innovation framework Marie Sk by relying on our international cooperation unit, Liverpool John Moores University. He applied the Curie Postdoctoral Fellowship talent fund funding, with a funding amount of 236748.48 Euros and a period of 24 months, conducts postdoctoral research on the safety and reliability of floating wind turbine structures, structural health monitoring, fault warning and health management, etc. (co directed by Dr. Musa Bashir, Professor Jin Wang). During the post doctoral period, Xu Zifei also won the LJMU 200th Anniversary Principal Scholarship, ranking first among numerous applicants and becoming the first Chinese to rank first in the history of this award.

From the national scholarship, the excellent doctoral thesis of the Shanghai Society of Engineering Thermophysics, to the approval of the Marie Curie Talent Program, as well as the selection of this ESI highly cited paper, all demonstrate the important achievements of our school in vigorously promoting the cultivation of excellent doctoral talents and international chemical exchange and cooperation, and from one side, confirm the improvement of the quality of our school's graduate education.
