On August 31, the Ministry of Education issued the shortlist for the third batch of “National College Huang-Danian-style Teaching Teams”. Usst’s “Energy-powered Low-carbon Technology Teaching Team”, led by Professor Zhang Hua, was successfully selected as one of the 119 teams on the list.
Energy power, as the lifeblood of national economy, accounts for 46% carbon emissions, making it one of the most important areas of the nation’s “double carbon strategy”. The team conscientiously carried out talent training and cutting-edge technological innovations to cater for various social and economic needs, and has since made remarkable achievements.
Professor Zhang Hua, the team leader, has won numerous research and teaching prizes at all levels, including 1 second prize for National Technology Award, 4 first prizes for Provincial and Ministerial Technology Award, 3 special and first prizes for Shanghai Teaching Achievements, and 2 first prizes for Shanghai Excellent Textbooks. Besides, he was also enlisted on a number of talent programs at national and municipal levels, and has won a lot of important awards and honors such as National Outstanding Teacher, Baosteel Education Award, May 4th Youth Medal.
This is the second time of a USST team to win this distinguished honor, following the Optical Engineering Teaching Team led by Academician Zhuang Songlin, which was enlisted as the first batch of “National College Huang-Danian-style Teaching Team”.
